AJ Lindner, aka cathartech

AJ Lindner is a sound and video artist, curator and promoter, and experimental music advocate hailing from Seattle, WA.

Over the past decade, he has performed frequently in the Pacific Northwest’s ‘difficult music’ circles, and composed for film and CD. His pieces have been distributed and aired in Europe and the USA, and throughout the world via various internet labels and streaming projects. His work has also extended to founding and curating the weekly experimental music showcase ‘No Tomorrow’.

He is currently involved in developing compositions for commercial release and further soundtrack and sound design for independent film with Taco Cart Productions. In April of 2010, he was accepted into the artist-in-residence program 2011 Mamori Sound Lab, a field-recording and composing project based in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest.

Recently, he attended the 2010 NatureSound.org nature recording workshop, directed by professional recordist Martyn Stewart, and the Jack Straw Studios Field Recording workshop, hosted by Tom Stiles.
